RESEARCH in brief

-How are genes turned ON and OFF?

Our group is working to gain a better understanding of fundamental epigenetic phenomenon governing stem cell identity in the human intestinal epithelium and colorectal tumors. One of the main goals of our laboratory at uOttawa is to develop novel, anticancer agents targeting key epigenetic features of colorectal cancer stem cells. Moreover, we aim to tackle the barrier of knowledge regarding the physiological role of chromatin organization in human intestinal stem cell identity and dynamic plasticity.
